Sometimes we think we must have an elaborate exercise routine in order to stay fit. The more complicated we make our training, the easier it becomes to make excuses and skip a workout. As Leonardo da Vinci so eloquently stated, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. Don’t make your training difficult. Do the following exercises everyday and you will maintain generalized strength over time and create a daily habit of exercise:
- Standing squats, 3 sets of 10 – perform full squats with only your body weight. https://youtu.be/3xxbcobAGUE
- Push ups, 3 sets of 10 – if you cannot do perfect push ups on the floor, do them at the wall or counter top until you can maintain perfect form and increase upper body strength
- Crunches, 3 sets of 10 – cross arms over chest and roll your shoulder blades off the ground keeping lower back on the ground and use your abdominal muscles to control the crunch.
Do these exercises everyday and you will improve the strength in your legs, upper body, and core musculature and the time spent will help you kick start your fitness.
