Ways to Workout


There are no limitations when it comes to working out.  After all, exercise has always been one of the best ways to improve your health.  Based on your personal interest, age, and fitness level there is something for everyone! Just make it fun and be consistent.  Change doesn’t happen overnight.  

Depending on your preferences you have a multitude of choices when it comes to your training. 

  • Endurance training such as swimming, biking, and running for prolonged periods can improve cardiovascular health, improve your mood, and burn calories in order to maintain lean muscle mass.
  • Strength training such as weight lifting improves muscular performance/strength and can help with increasing bone density as well as improve your mood.  Sets and repetitions can vary depending on your focus.  If you are unsure of where to start, start with 3 sets of 10 repetitions.   
  • Martial Arts training can help with self confidence, strength training, coordination, and flexibility.  
  • Yoga/Pilates training can improve flexibility, balance, range of motion, and posture. 
  • HIIT/Tabata training can improve aerobic conditioning, strength, and overall fitness through short intense bouts of High Intensity exercise.  This type of exercise has been prove to burn fat quickly.
  • Calisthenics training can improve strength and flexibility through body weight exercises
  • Group Fitness Classes can improve generalized fitness in a class environment and incorporate various disciplines.   

Confusion can often paralyze our progress when it comes to our health and fitness.  Confusion about how to workout does not have to be complicated.  Asses your interest and explore the various ways to workout.  There are many.  Don’t get frustrated and don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone.   Sometimes a change needs to be made in order to reach new levels of fitness and avoid plateauing.
